Winter Camping Overnight and Skill Building
Dates: December 15-16, 2018
Location: Waupaca, W
Now that the cold season is underway, it’s time to pack up the bug spray and get your cold weather gear ready for the trail.
This family-friendly trip is ideal for beginners and anyone who wants to get their winter gear dialed in before the peak season. We will be camping <5 minutes from our vehicles on 40 private acres where Nick teaches wilderness medicine and survival courses in warmer months. There will be plenty of firewood and water. For those seeking more adventure, you can hike in along the Ice Age Trail and get a few miles under your boots if you like. Contact us for more details on this.
The Plan: You can arrive anytime Saturday and hike down to the site. We will have a large parachute shelter set up over the fire area. Throughout the day, myself and a few others will be presenting on various winter topics and skills which may include:
• Fire making
• knife, ax, and saw use
• The art of layering
• Winter first ad skills
• Winter hammock camping
• Hot tent & wood stove use
• Camp cooking
Registration: $40 due by Wednesday, Dec 12th
Checks and money apps are also accepted. Please pm for details
I will send you a full recommended gear list once your payment has been received.
