11/16 Spots Available

This 3 day wilderness canoe camping trip in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest will be relaxed paddling over a series of quiet lakes with a couple short portages. This is a great beginner canoe camping trip. Our groups very own lightweight canoes, PFDs, and paddles, are included along with two fantastic group dinners cooked over the campfire.

While we’re out there, you’ll have plenty of time for fishing, swimming, hiking, wildlife viewing, and stargazing. There are over 11 miles of trails accessible right from camp.

Just for fun, Nickofthewoods will be leading a wild edibles and mushroom hunt. In past years we have collected 10-20 pounds of wild food!!!

Participants must be comfortable in the water. Paddling and backpacking experience is a plus. You should have your own personal gear (pack, mess kit, sleeping bag, clothes, etc) or the ability to acquire it. We can help with some gear needs on a first come first serve basis. Participants should be in good physical health and able to carry their personal gear as well as assist in portaging lightweight canoes for short distances.

AS ALWAYS >>> I will send you a full recommended gear list once your payment has been received.
